It's black tonight. There is no moon (once again). We nearly caught a fish and glad it was nearly. We had to stop the boat because without doing so something had to give. There was no chance for me to hold the rod, it was bent over at right angles. I started to wind in, gingerly, then suddenly the line went slack and squiddy escaped from an uncertain finality being part of the beast for years to come (maybe)? Me thinks big fish eat a lot of little fish in these parts. With that folly out of the way day became night and its black outside (again). Ray served-up a cracking chicken casserole and I attended to the afters. Unfortunately the ice-cream cones have all but disintegrated - possibly the carrier mishandled them (us)! I was able to salvage just one cone, donating it to Ray, and the other part-cone fell on the floor (mine) which I proceeded to eat regardless. Good ice-cream in bad cone will do me no harm (I hope?). Squiddy's now in and resting for the night because it's too dark to see anything. The wind is very slight so we are on the donk in a lovely rolly/swelly sea..... and can't see anything! Conditions are unlikely to change until we are another hundred miles or more further south, may be towards end of tomorrow? We did sail for few hours and until it became impossible to keep 4 kn. It was lovely & peaceful but needs must otherwise it'll be time to head back before we get there and the 'ladies' could get mad if we missed our rendezvous in Barbados (long way off for now).
Night night My Lover xxxxxxx
