Kemer 28th Jan

Been a bit wet today and with the wind coming from mainland Turkiye it's been fairly cool by Kemer standards. Most of the yacht project works are now almost complete. SSB operational (except for the ground plates, which I won't fit until we're in need of a lift-out, maybe next year). 65W semi-flexible solar panel mounted on the coach-roof (which should mean we can now leave our 'maintained supply on so that our saloon bilge pump can switch-on automatically if needed and importantly, to keep our 24V batteries from going flat, as they did first time we left the yacht unattended for a few weeks). Dedicated GPS for NMEA (after deciding to keep several NMEA needs separate from our autopilot computer). Various wiring changes, which improve our electrical distribution via 'cockpit-supply' and now have washing machine draining to aft-heads grey water sump (whereas it used to go directly overboard, alongside a number of seawater outlets, which could be risky if we seawater has entered the washing machine). Decks cleaned & polished. Hull top-sides cleaned and power-washed. All in all, very happy with the present condition of Ticketeeboo and looking forward to next returning to her for another good sailing season.
The really good news for us is that our insurers finally settled our claim yesterday when they finally paid us the agreed amount directly into our bank account. This has been a really long drawn-out affair, which we are glad to move-on from. Fortunately, we do believe Ticketeeboo is even better for the experience because we know so much more about all her 'hidden' electrical wiring and have made changes in an effort to avoid possibility of future lightening strikes (hopefully!).
